I know how overwhelming it can feel to shop for art materials—there are so many options out there. It’s easy to spend money on things you don’t end up using… or to miss out on the supplies that could really make your creative time easier and more joyful.

Over the years, through my own painting practice and teaching hundreds of students, I’ve tested a lot of tools, brands, and materials. Some became my favorites (like the Neocolor II’s!), and others… well, not so much.

So I put these lists together to help you skip the guesswork and discover the supplies that truly support your art.

My hope is to help you fill your studio with materials that feel good to use, inspire you to sit down and paint, and don’t break the bank. Many of these items are also part of my online class supply lists, while others are things I personally love and use in my own studio every day.
